Great Caribbean Resorts

There are a wide number of incredible resorts throughout the Caribbean. No matter your preferences, there will be something for everyone. What follows are a small sampling of some of the greatest resorts in the Caribbean.

  • Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort (Aruba)  - This is an adults only resort located directly on a beautiful 14 acre white sand beach. This resort is a bit more intimate than some of the even larger ones, but still features 104 rooms. It includes free breakfast, wifi and laundry. This resort offers a very relaxed atmosphere.
  • Guana Island (British Virgin Islands) - This is a true resort for people who want to get away from the world. A boutique size resort offers more exclusion and only 18 rooms. There’s no bikes and no cars on the island. Rooms don’t have a phone or TV installed. The only form of technology at all is free Wi-FI, but it may not be smart to count on the strongest signal. Seven different beaches surround the resort as well as beautiful forests.
  • La Concha Renaissance (Puerto Rico) - This is a larger resort and allows travellers to enjoy the beach and weather during the day, while sampling a taste of Puerto Rican San Juan nightlife throughout the evenings. Some of the most beautiful features include a beautiful multi-level pool that transforms into a lounge at night.
  • Sandals South Coast (Jamaica) - Yes, perhaps Sandals doesn’t have the best reputation, but their Sandals South Coast is a wonderful resort. The best part has to be their over the water Polynesian style bungalows. Each one has easy access to the ocean and personalized butler service. The over the water chapel can make destination weddings exciting as well.

Tips for Getting a Great Deal

If you’re looking to score a great vacation to the Caribbean, there’s a few ways to do that. The old adage of booking early can help. Resorts of course want assurance that most of their rooms will be booked and the same can be said for airlines. The other option is booking last minute. Discounted rooms or flights are more advantageous than having them empty.

Another option to get a great deal is to try to go slightly out of season. People in the Northern states usually want to get away during the cold of winter. This is the priciest time to do so. Spring and Fall can have some great deals. Research a regions “rainy season” and how that works. In some cases, the “rainy season” may be one small 30 minute rain shower each day, with the rest of the time being beautiful. If that’s the case, then why not get a huge discount and go out of season!
